Short biography of Miles Sagnia:
British born and based DJ, Recording Artist and Label Head of [l=Atmospheric Existence Recordings].
Raised in the outskirts of London, absorbing classical training and theory while digesting everything he could get his hands on musically. Electronic music became an interest later on from deconstructing & analyzing music via pirate radio around London in the early 90′s sharing mix tapes, while tinkering with synthesizers and drum machines in jam sessions with friends that had equipment.
Worked behind the counter at Rhythm Syndicate Records in Cambridge UK for several years, hand picking records for many leading international household name DJs.
Then in 2000, won the UK Dance music magazine, ‘Mixmag’ DJ competition and took up dj residency @ The Boutique, in London (Turnmills) / Brighton (Concorde2).
Performed in the UK and internationally for a time under the guise of ‘[a=Living City]’ as a duo with close friend Toby Slade-Baker.
Sagnia embarked on his solo career with material released on Keith Worthy’s Aesthetic Audio Imprint in Detroit. [r1957808], received critical acclaim and made the top of the charts of many including Kirk Degiorgio, Kai ‘KZR’ Alce, Deetron, Patrice Scott, Jus 'Ed, Mike Huckaby, I-D magazine, amongst others. With a Resident Advisor review of 4.5/5, DJ magazine 5 *****
After 14 years as a committed DJ working the underground House & Techno scene in the UK, his own imprint in 2009 “Atmospheric Existence Recordings” was formed as a vision for his own solo productions and works of carefully selected guest artists. This was also the year that Sagnia took his imprint A.E.R. to the airwaves of London’s award winning ‘HOUSE FM’ radio station. After a season of shows, focus was back on music production with notable releases for London based Deep House imprint ‘Ornate Music’, seminal uk techno imprint [l=Applied Rhythmic Technology (ART)] as well as A.E.R.
Remix duties followed for Myles Serge Clark's RE(FORM) recordings, a track by Kazuya Kawakami, and Belgian label NOWAR, remixing Leonid's 'Feel' track.
Most recent project is a split EP on his AER label with [l=Deepblak] founder and co-owner of Future Vision recordings with Ron Trent, entitled 'The Eternal Radiance EP'.
On the DJing front, Sagnia performed at GLADE festival (UK) and the much lauded FREEROTATION festival (UK), along with some stand out gigs including Manchester's 'Bohemian Grove' and a whole host of others. The year 2012 saw the release of first album, [r5384039].
Recently tagged as ‘One To Watch’ by online magazine Juno Plus, and he continues on his quest to deliver music with thought, depth and integrity, making dancefloors move to his solid selection of heartfelt emotive grooves, mechanized funk and deep selections.
