Short biography of Syntagma Musicum: Dutch ensemble, founded in 1963 to provide authentic performances of religious and secular music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The musical director of Syntagma Musicum was Kees Otten (1924 - 2008). The ensemble was named after the 1619 treatise on Renaissance music by Michael Praetorius.
