Wizex

Short biography of Wizex: Wizex in its modern form was formed in Osby, Sweden in 1973. The original members were Kikki Danielsson (Vocals), Mats Nilsson (bass), Tommy Stiernfeldt (guitar), Tommy Carlsson (guitar), Jerker Nilsson (drums) & Lars Hagelin (keyboards). However, the group name had been used in the 60s as well by another constellation entirely.

Wizex toured the folk parks and were successful with that. In 1974 they got to release their first album, which was followed by a string of other albums with increasing success. A breakthrough which led to some chart presense came in 1977 as Wizex performed on Swedish TV in the show Nygammalt. The next year, the group took part in Melodifestivalen which is the Swedish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They shared the first place but had fewer full point scores and did not get to go to Eurovision.

The group kept the same setup until the early 80s. Singer Kikki Danielsson had become very popular by then and performed in other constellations as well. Wizex still exist and have seen band members come and go. They have had singers like Lena Pålsson, Charlotte Nilsson (now Perelli), Paula Pennsäter, Jessica Sjöholm and Anna Sköld.

Wizex have sold records in the seven figure range and are still going strong.
