Short biography of Carl Michael Von Hausswolff:
Swedish composer, visual artist and curator, born 13 October 1956 in Linköping, Sweden. Father of [a=Maria Von Hausswolff] and [a=Anna Von Hausswolff]. He lives and works in Stockholm, and had since the end of the 70s worked as a composer using the tape recorder as his main instrument.
He has often collaborated with other artists (such as Erik Pauser, [a=Leif Elggren], [a=Andrew McKenzie], Johan Söderberg, [a=Zbigniew Karkowski], [a=Graham Lewis], [a=David Jackman], [a=Jean-Louis Huhta] and [a=Kim Cascone]). He devised the concept and is the curator of the [a=freq_out] sound collective. Hausswolff's audiovisual works have also found outlets in pictorial art.
On the 27th of May 1992 at 12 Noon GMT, alongside [a=Leif Elggren], he proclaimed the Kingdom of Elgaland-Vargaland, a new country established as a work of art.
